Message from the Chamber President George Krebs
When I first joined the Chamber of Commerce some fifteen years ago, I was not sure what I expected in return for my annual dues. I think I just figured that my business would suddenly increase due to a listing in the Chamber directory. While a listing is a valuable incentive, it was not until I became active within the Chamber that my business began to benefit. First it was simply going to general membership meetings and networking events. From that I joined a sub- committee. As my interest in the Chamber grew, I was asked to join the existing Board of Directors. The rest, as they say, is history.
As with any endeavor, what you realize in benefits is commensurate with the effort you put into it. I would encourage all Chamber members to, at the very least, attend Breakfast Bonanzas and other networking events and activities to advertise and promote your business and then see if you find what I did; namely, that Chamber of Commerce membership is the least expensive avenue for targeted, inexpensive advertising opportunities for your business. When you put a face on your business products and services, results generally follow.
